Seriously, September!
Hello my dear ones
I do hope you are all well and enjoying the crispy spring mornings and beautiful days. We are all so excited about our upcoming show. Ticket sales have been phenomenal and the graduates are eager to do their debut.
So many changes have occurred in the school and we will share as much as we can as our plot unfolds. For now, though, we are looking forward to our 11th annual show…. It’s a FAMILY AFFAIR.
This is going to be the last show of its kind. We move to greener pastures as our school grows into a Skills Academy. Our next show will be quite different. More about that later in the year.
Each year, we try to change the theme and vibe of the show to keep it different from our previous ones. This year, we have changed the dynamics but not the venue. After last year’s tremendous success and scrumptious meal from Ismail Bemath and his team, we opted not to change. The ambiance and decor were like a fairy tale. We are just as excited about our show this year and hope it will be the best ever.
This year, each graduate will show her respected line separately. Some graduates have started chiseling a niche in the fashion market and will hopefully grow to be successful in whatever they choose to do with their acquired knowledge.
The theme, “A Family Affair” was the brainwave of our Module 3 class as their families also wanted to be a part of this memorable day. So, in keeping with the theme, family members of each graduate will show off the garments made especially for them.
We have many students doing the Learn to Sew in 16 Lessons course but few make it to the top. This year EIGHT students will graduate! I am so proud of all the effort these students have put in. Family responsibilities, health and weather plays a huge role in attending classes regularly, but the main aspect is the GET UP AND GO needed to Make it Happen!
I say Get Up and Go before your get up and go goes away.
With that I bid you farewell and look forward to seeing you at the show. Please make sure to meet and greet, so that I get to meet your wonderful ladies.
That’s all from me
Mrs. A
