My dear readers,
Half of the year has gone and the next half is glaring with hope and possibilities. I do hope you are all in good health and inspired to be positive. My aim in writing these monthly newsletters is to inspire creativity and positivity in all of you.
The school holidays keep most parents on hold and some are eager to make the most of the winter break. We tried to populate our timeslots with shorter courses such as the four-day Sewing Skills course, the once-off Shopper Bag lesson, the Abaya Lessons as well as Professional Development and Pattern-making.
Our winter holiday Sewing Skills course was a phenomenal success! Our young students absolutely amazed us. So eager to learn and so quick to grasp the concept of preparing the machine and actually stitching useful items. We are very proud of each one’s achievements.
Our current Module 3 group is on the go and our Module 2s are expected to complete their Module 3 by October, just in time for our Annual Show. Our renowned Module 1 course has taken TWO prime Saturday timeslots, while a new Module 3 group patiently awaits their Saturday spot. The proof is in the pudding.
Our upgraded methodology and easier techniques have made Silent Sewing Academy a place to really Empower, Uplift and Elevate our students. In keeping with the latest fashion and trends, our comprehensive syllabus has stood the test of time. We have come full circle with our designs and pattern-making and have seen exceptional results while keeping up with the times. It is ironic that those designs in our syllabus, which were once deemed old fashioned, has popped up again in the fashion scene keeping our syllabus, once again, abreast with current fashion. The extraordinary point to be noted is that all our designs can be adapted to suit all figures. In that respect, all our students, both young and old, are included, thus making the Academy accessible to all.
Winter is a reminder to us of how the underprivileged may be suffering. Due to low income, many are on the bread line. We have taken it upon ourselves to try and help as many as we can by empowering those that need it. Thank you to our sponsors for covering fees, machines and fabrics, helping us to bring this good deed to fruition. If you would like to sponsor towards uplifting our students, please do get in touch.
Sewing is a blessing which has proven itself over and over again. New referrals enter our premises believing that all their problems can take a back seat once they enter the Academy and have a fresh dose of Mrs A. I am only doing what I deem right. God Almighty in His wisdom knows that I need to be with you more than you need me. My teaching has allowed me to form strong bonds with each student, as we all relate to each other in different aspects. I hope that I can always be a source of of assistance to you, both spiritually and emotionally.
Till next time,
Mrs. A
