Welcome to 2019 my dear ones
This newsletter brings us to new beginnings in this new year. I do hope you all are well and adjusted to the change that every new year brings.
The Summer Holidays flew by quickly as many schools opened earlier than usual thus shortening the vacation. I sincerely hope that you all enjoyed the well-deserved break whether you were at home or away. A holiday is a holiday and should be treated differently from every other day. It kills the monotony of every day work and housekeeping chores. Respect the break and make it different. Prepare for it before it comes. The happiness and excitement will make you a fun-loving person that your family will want to be with. No complaints and no sorrows. Life is too short to be grumpy and sad. Look at the beauty God provides us with – the fresh air we breathe, the beauty of fauna and flora, the free society we live in. This is enough for us to develop an attitude of gratitude. Eat sensibly and respect your body. Sleep well and always keep hydrated. Love yourself!
Here at the Academy, we are in full throttle and have been begun work in earnest since 12 January. Our Saturday classes are in full swing. Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday morning sessions have both begun. The second round of classes, to fill up the other time slots begin on 28 January, hopefully.
We have promised gifts to those who enrolled before 31 December 2018 and have been handing out those gifts recently. The students were thrilled as they received a pair of fancy jars with matching lids decorated by a green ribbon. Those who did not qualify will have a chance to do so as we will be running the promotion again during the year.
The school has seen many lovely ladies come and go. Some carve a permanent place in our lives and others leave behind good memories. Whichever it is, I truly appreciate the wonderful feedback I get. What a wonderful feeling of exhilaration. It overwhelms me when I read simple words of praise.
Of all the words written, Ferial Olla who completed Modules 1 and 2, topped it with her phenomenal way of expressing herself and taking out the best in those around her. Ferial Ola messaged me while I was holidaying: “That is what it is all about. Not only empowering but uplifting too. Who needs life coaching when we can interact on this level and learn an art too? You should use this when making a mission statement for your school!”. Thank you for those wonderful words, Ferial.
Our crochet class has made a comeback as we have many inquiring. Classes will be held in Reservoir Hills on Saturdays from 11 to 1. The reversible shopper bag class will be held once a month.
Till next time,
-Mrs A-
