Hello my Dear Ones,
June has been an exciting month and we are now back again to find that half the year is behind us. We have officially been closed for our mid-year break, which coincided beautifully with Ramadaan. However, with so many ladies who needed to make up their missed lessons, as well as some who needed to do the Sew Your Design lessons, we made an exception. It has been a tremendous month for us spiritually and I hope it has been for you too.
I truly hope you have progressed and developed a step or more, either with your sewing, home organisation or with your family since my last letter to you. Now we have an exciting few months ahead.
The buzz is on as we start preparing for our annual Designer Showcase. This most gratifying part of the year always makes me feel like I have achieved my goal.
Fashion is fast-moving and, in order to keep up with the latest trends and designs, many have taken to Pinterest, a social media platform where you can follow your interests and pin your ideas to a virtual pinboard. The fashion hottie at the moment is The Throw. This jacket-style over-garment has been adapted to suit almost any figure. Made from different fabrics, weights, colours and prints this new flattering design has succeeded in giving Abayas a new dimension! Adhering to Islamic criteria The Throw is currently one of the most ideal garments for concealing the figure. Be it in heavy Winter fabrics, flimsy sheer, plain black, mix and match coordinates or colourful florals, the beauty of The Throw is how it’s worn. Stitched down the centre-front makes it friendly for the modest conservatives. Open, flowy and flamboyant worn with a head scarf, The Throw is a winner all the way. The Sew Your Design lesson has had a huge impact on those students of ours who sell their creations for profit. It entails designing and pattern-making, in a once-off empowerment lesson, giving our ladies a fuss-free opportunity to marketing their exclusive products.
