Hello my dear ones and the ones I don’t know personally…
It has been a while since my last letter to you. I really appreciate the positive feedback which I received after the last newsletter was sent. So many of you expressed an interest to make the newsletter a monthly occurrence rather than quarterly. Rest assured that we at Silent Sewing Academy will seriously consider shortening the intervals. If there are more of you out there who would also like that, please let us know.
Autumn is a beautiful season when the days are cooler and the nights are longer. Somehow, this is perfect weather to dust off your sewing machine and spend your time productively. Get ready for cooler days by revamping your boring wardrobe.
- Give away those garments that make you feel sad or depressed.
- Outdated clothing can be artistically revamped.
- Tackle those procrastinated alterations and mend and repair everything.
- Remove stains by smearing some Handy Andydirectly onto them, leave on for a few minutes and rinse.
- Starch shirts to bring them back to peak. No one likes to look ‘Oh so last year!’
- While you’re at it, give away all your fabric scraps to worthy causes such as the Hospice, etc. This will give you space to think of newer projects to tackle.
Winter is colder than we remember and a cuddly fleecy gown is a must. (You can use the Wrap Dress draft from the Intermediate Level.)
Shopping bags and gift bags have updated to fabric. Easy to sew and inexpensive to make. We have created a special lesson in Saturday Master Class to discover the art of sewing Shopper bags and Gift bags. Costs are requirements are on our Website.
Shoes are always the hardest to part with, but be critical of the situation. Somewhere, someone might have better use for the shoes you are not using. Spruce up your favourites. Clean them, polish them and leave them covered to protect them. Invest in a shoe rack if need be.
As I wrap up, I would like to remind you that we, as women, need to make an extra effort to juggle our time and we often tend to neglect ourselves. Let’s start with the simplest age-old saying, “Early to bed, early to rise, makes us healthy, wealthy and wise.”
Remember, I love receiving constructive feedback, so please feel free to reply to this email with any comments, questions or suggestions. Also, please add us to your Contact List so that our emails don’t end up in Junk Mail.
Goodbye till next time!
