Hello my dear ladies
January came to a gradual end, as all months generally do. It was a short month for those who work, but a long month budget-wise. Nevertheless, the days flew by leaving a trail of mini accomplishments. Our precious little ones began a new school year. Working family members went back to the normal every day chores. I do hope you all had a wonderful beginning to 2018. We sure did, with the Blessings of the Almighty.
A new year brings new beginnings. The world is full of happy news and sad news. We need to count our blessings and, on that note, move forward. Shelve all past grievances and tuck away sad feelings. Over power your emotions with happy thoughts and get Giving. It is an awesome kind of feeling. Giving is the best antidote to fix broken hearts and minds. Give back your troubles to those who gave them to you. You don’t need it, so don’t shoulder it. Move aside. Make room for YOU. Give away your unwanted clothing. Give away broken appliances that cannot be repaired. Give away the extra anythings that you have lying around.
We all go through trials and I have had my fair share too. We need to be persistent in all matters that have to be attended to. It is the only thing that will keep the ball rolling. The momentum is important. Important to your well being and those around that you serve. Your spouse, your children, your family.
Here at the Academy we have seen an influx of students. All I can say is that with the Grace of God the school is growing. Our Module 5 is on hold for the time being. More about that in the next newsletter.
Our school is all about empowering and the reversible shopper bag has become a phenomenal success. The lessons are in demand and so are the crochet lessons. With the sewing classes on the move our other workshops were on hold but we are now ready to begin again.
The water shortage in Cape Town has given a wake up call to us all. So much water has been sponsored and transported. That’s the spirit of mankind. We all hope for better times but should not ignore this crisis. Let’s hope and pray that the problem is resolved quickly.
Our Singer sewing machines have now become a household name. The timeless trusted Singer brand has once again out done itself with the Heavy Duty range that is adored by all who have bought it. It has become number one firm favourite. Our other machines have also stood the test of time and, in the two years we have been Singer agents, we have had minimal problems and nothing that could not be resolved. We at the Academy try to fix your machines within 24 hours but when it comes to Singer we have to abide by their protocol. All machines are repaired here but those that cannot are sent to Head Office in Johannesburg. We also wait and hope for the best.
Our Annual Designer Show will boast a new spec this year. The show is usually held in October each year. Watch this space for more information.
Reading is an art of communication and communication is the backbone of all relationships. We need to indulge in serious reading whether you use your kindle or borrow from the library add a little reading in your past time. A vast selection of books are found in bookshops. Fashion magazines and family magazines make good reading material and also educates you. I myself love writing and reading brings me into a world of peace and serenity.
I leave you in peace and hope the rest of your month is full of blessing.
Take care,
Mrs. A
