At Silent Sewing Academy, we’ve seen how sewing has transformed the lives of so many women. Some joined us simply wanting to hem their own curtains, or sew a button back onto a blouse, or with the brilliant dream of one day sewing their granddaughter’s wedding gown. Today, they’re creating stunning outfits, altering clothing like pros, and even starting their own businesses. Imagine that!
When I started Silent Sewing Academy back in 2008, it was because I saw a real need. So many women wanted to learn sewing, but they didn’t know where to start. Back then, I never dreamed our academy would grow to what it is today. Over 350 ladies have come through our doors, each with their own unique story and dream.
Why Sewing?
Sewing is more than just stitching fabric together. It’s a skill for life. You’ll save money by making your own clothes or doing alterations. Our signature Learn to Sew in 16 Lessons course is designed for absolute beginners. You don’t even need to know how to thread a needle. I’ll guide you step-by-step, showing you everything from the basics to creating 13 lovely garments. You’ll walk away with the confidence to sew for yourself—and maybe even for others.

This year, why not do something for yourself? Whether you’re a busy mum, a working woman, or someone looking for a creative hobby, sewing is for everyone. It’s never too late to start, and trust me, you’re never too old to learn.

I’m currently taking enrolments for the following courses which begin in the new year, from 6 January 2025:
- Module One
- Mondays and Wednesdays – 11:30-14:30 (for 8 weeks)
- Monday to Thursday – 08:30-11:30 (for 4 weeks)
- Saturdays – 11:00-14:00 (for 16 weeks)
- Module Two
- Tuesdays and Thursdays – 11:30-14:30 (for 8 weeks)
- Saturdays – 08:00-11:00 (for 16 weeks)
- Module Three
- Saturdays – 14:00-17:00 (Currently in progress)
